La ceiba/ The Ceiba

Cuando uno es el árbol más frondoso del bosque, se adquiere una gran responsabilidad.

Sobre todo, hay que tener paciencia: 25 años debo cumplir yo, la ceiba, antes de florecer por primera vez y algunas de mis semillas también se toman su tiempo para germinar.

Sin embargo, el resultado es asombroso: los animales se enamoran de mí.

Algunos se quedan a vivir en mis ramajes y no les gusta bajar hasta el suelo.

Great responsibility comes with being the most magnificent tree of the forest.

But mostly, a ceiba like me needs patience: twenty-five to produce my first bloom, and sometimes nearly as long for my seeds to germinate! Nevertheless, the result is always awe-inspiring: animals love me, and many find a home among my leafy branches, rarely needing to leave.
